People, Food and Books.

The title roughly describes what a bookcrossing meetup is like. Went to this month's meetup at Delicious in Bangsar Village 2. I only picked up 2 books. I have so many books on my shelf I have yet to read!!! Currently reading Richard Branson's Autobiography "Loosing My Virginity" and John Grisham's "The Innocent Man". This is the first time ever that I've failed to finish a John Grisham book in 2 days. I've obviously been neglecting my books!!!

I haven't even started on "Playing for Pizza"!! OMG! What's wrong with me!!! Most of the time I read all the books that I have, but as of now, there are 10 books that I either haven't started on, or haven't finish reading it. Oh dear.

Anyways, these are the books I picked up from today's meetup.

GEORGE CARLIN!

never heard of this one, but, no sweat, just read and release.

Let's move on to the food!!! There's no meetup without food! oh, and books too (heheheh)
Starters, here's what my mom ordered for starters while waiting for the rest of the members who stayed true to malaysian timing ;p.

Roasted Tomato Bruschetta

Pate.

Fried Calamari (nama glamour for sotong goreng tepung, hihihi)

Katie's lunch, Lemon Meringue Pie.

My lunch, Carbonara Spaghettini.

Now if you don't believe that our bookcrossing meetups are always about people, food and books, let me prove it to you.

So there, people,food and books. Oh, and this is Gary who released the child in him by drawing on the place mats.

After the meetup, some of us proceeded to a reading at Seksan.

Lydia Teh author of "Honk! If You're Malaysian"

Mom listening attentively. Notice the decorations? It was at an art gallery.

That's about it. Dunno what to type anymore. Oh, if you have no idea what bookcrossing is, click here!

I Signed Up For PPP!!!

Yes, exactly what the title says.

This is the whole reason why I went to get my debit card! d'uh! This is going to sound so cliché, I know it WILL sound cliché, and I DON'T CARE if it sounds cliché!! Because at times like this, if there is a chance for me to make some extra dough, why not?

I blog every week anyways, why not get paid to do it? What with the hike in petrol price, and then the price hike of everything else due to domino effect, it is about time I did this too! Been wanting to sign up with payperpost for quite some time now, it is just that I had to get my paypal account set up and all.

Few months ago I went through a phase of.........well a phase when I was so crazy about finding ways to make more money, because some people are making so much money left right top centre bottom, selling this and that. Then my mom’s friend recommended payperpost. Did not actually take it up at that time, because I did not have a paypal account.

Then recently, my friend started blogging for money. I guess when someone I actually know and closer to does it, the excitement is even higher. Got him to explain about it to me, he even told me how to get my debit card (you know who you are). So, went to get my card, signed up for payperpost, signed up for paypal. Voila!!

Ladies and gentlemen! (or whoever else that’s reading this blog, dudes,dudettes)

I am on my way to make more monay!!!!(I KNOW it’s spelled money, me not stupid ok?!)

(I can hear Poetic Ammo’s Monay Monay playing in my head right now)

We’re going shopping!

I Beg to Differ.

have you realized how everyone else's stuff are shit and your shit are stuffs?
George Carlin.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
So I went back to the Maybank near LCCT to change my atm card to a visa debit card, this time determined not to pay rm12. Why? Because
1. My friend who changed his card did not get charged.
2. My housemate who replaced her spoiled card did not get charged.
So there I was, filling up the form, submitted it, the teller took my fingerprint and what not. Then he told me to pay 12 bucks. Then I asked him why the girl who changed her card yesterday did not have to pay? He said because her card wasn't working, it was spoiled. So I said, well my other friend changed his card with no charge.
His colleagues then said, you do not get charged if your card is spoiled, because the fault is on their side. Wa-hey! That makes a whole lot of sense! Except that my guy friend's card wasn't spoiled. They then asked me, where my friend got his card. So I called my dear old friend. He said he did it at the very same branch. The teller who processed it was a lady. So they called the lady, but she was busy. He told me to wait. Fine, I'll wait, no rush.
At that time, it was already past office hours. Jin (not MC Jin) was there waiting with me. We were bitching about them cursing about us behind the counter. ahaks. Then the teller called me to the counter.
JENG JENG JENG, Moment of truth.
He handed me the new card and ask me to sign the acceptance form then said "Takpe saya bayarkan" I was like "Huh?!" he replied "Serious, takpe, saya nak cepat ni, kalau nak tunggu lambat."
Okayyyyyy, fine, pay for my card. Ain't my problem y'all can't get your policies straight. He most probably put my card under spoiled anyway.
Why I refused to pay? Well, their concept doesn't make sense.
No charge for a new card if your current card it spoiled.
I would agree to this policy if it applies to newly issued card, which is already spoiled even before you have a chance to use it. That is definitely their fault. BUT!!!! A spoiled card after using it for years should not be applied with the same policy, there are many factors that could have rendered the card un-serviceable.
By charging customers for simply wanting to get a debit card makes no senses. In fact it is somehow discouraging your customers to do so. I wouldn't have mind paying if everyone else had to pay. My friend went to the counter, said he wanted to change his atm card to a debit card. He got a new one free, no questions asked. How come they did not check with him if his card is spoiled? He was issued a free one just like that.
Come to think of it, do they actually check the cards that are claimed to be spoiled? If yes, fine. If no, then why bother having different policies for spoiled and unspoiled card? For all you know, the card claimed spoiled is actually still working, they just wanna get out of paying rm12.
Call it consumer rights, call it i'm-always-right. I don't care.
I didn't have to pay for my card. Veni Vidi Vinci.
Have you heard that the government is rewarding RM 1 000 000 to Olympic Gold Medalists?
So THAT'S why they can't afford the petrol subsidy anymore. Sheesh, how silly of me.
Whuddup Yaw?
random recall:
If everything seems to be going well, you have obviously overlooked something. Murphy's Law yo.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Here's how my day went. Woke up, went to class. Badabing badabam, class finished. Went to maybank, to change my atm card to a debit card, the guy said I had to pay RM12, and wait for 30 mins. I was like, what the heck, my friend told me no need to pay for the card. So what the heck, I thought I'd do it another day. But my housemate needed to change her atm card because it wasn't working. When she was done, guess what? The new card she got, was the visa debit card......there's more. I asked her whether she paid 12 bucks. She said no. I'm like What the heck!! He told me I had to pay 12 bucks!! I was pissed, lucky thing I didn't go ahead and paid the money. Best thing was, she wasn't even applying for the debit card, she just wanted a new atm card.

STOOPID. (no, i'm not stupid, I just like to spell it that way) I can't think of a reason for the bank guy to ask me to pay when the next person wasn't asked to pay. GERAM.

Then, walk out of the bank, went over to the area where I parked.
I was like "Where's my car?" All 5 of us stopped dead in our tracks. "It's there lar, aik, don't have wan.." I was panicking like giler already. Look left, look right. DUDE WHERE'S MY CAR!!!!

Then my friend was like, "Haiya! there lar! next to the taxi! tak nampak!!!"

HEHEHEHEHEHEH false alarm. my car was hidden from view, but it was there. DRAMATIC BETUL.

anyways, anyways, the real point of me posting this now when I'm supposed to revise is this short trailer video. (hence the hip-hop sikit title)

uh huh uh huh.

POINT BLANC FEAT MC JIN YO!!!!!!!
ONE DAY.

That's the official music video trailer.

I know it's very-the-short!! But wait for the release! Watch this space (ammogurl what....I'll surely update here wanz)

The Government Cutting the Ministers' Special Allowances.
10% cut from their entertainment allowance? Banyak mane je tuh? Traveling allowances, they make a lot of money ok, why give them money for traveling? They don't need it, they can afford it on their own.

MAS tarik balik special traveling privileges from Tony.
I'm not being bias here, but, how childish can you get? It's like you can't think of a better come back. Macam budak kecik gaduh, pastu "Aku tak nak kawan ngko, bagi balik mainan aku" Why do you need to compete with us anyway? We're low cost, not in the same category as you being a national airline and all that frills.

Your Flight is Delayed.
Be thankful that they are actually delaying the flight. Because that means they are rectifying the defect on the aircraft instead of letting you fly on an aircraft that's unfit to fly. Ingat kite suka-suka je ke ground aircraft? It's work ok? Our responsibility to make sure it's safe for you to fly. If it's bad weather, not our fault, we don't control it.

OJT ends, Class starts.
Relief, not that I don't like OJT, but too much of something is bad enough, too much of nothing is just as tough.

AWAM Hunt For Equal Footing

It was a star studded hunt (ye lar tu..) Well, the Chong sisters, Rovilson, Anne, Diane and Adrian of Amazing Race Asia 2 where there. So was Daphne Iking. That's not what I want to talk about.

I have participated in 2 hunts in my life so far. One was back at school, another is the Spirit of KL as a researcher. From what I went through today, sadly, I have to say that this hunt was not well organized. And for their 5th charity hunt, you'd think they'd worked out the kinks already.

First thing is, briefing on anything at all about the hunt was only done on the day itself, prior to flag off. Before that, participants who've never joined their hunt before have no idea what the hunt will be like. Turns out, this hunt is more for the hardcore treasure hunt enthusiasts. Nothing like Amazing Race or the Spirit of KL. This treasure hunt involves solving riddles/questions by searching for the answer at a designated area. Answers to questions are in sequence, meaning if you found the answer for the next question, that means the answer to the previous question is back there.

Organizers failed to inform us that we would have to spend money and make purchases throughout the hunt. In fact, answers to some question can only be found in a book that they are selling for RM15. We also had to solve riddles to find out the 'treasures' that we are supposed to BUY and bring back.

A lot (I wouldn't say MOST, but definitely more than a few) of the riddles doesn't make sense, when they explained the answers, many of us was pissed because they didn't make sense. To the organizers it makes sense, because they came up with it! I've done this kind of riddle hunt before back in school, and everything makes sense. When we didn't get something, and our teacher later explained the deciphering to us, we went "Oh yeah, should've thought of that" but today was mostly "What the heck???!!!!"

There were a lot of anagram involved. And each of them has different identification that even hints that it was an anagram. There's no way for us to know if it's an anagram, unless of course you came up with the riddle.

Other than that, I think this one is pretty important, there was no medical team on standby in case of emergencies. Not that anything happened, but when you have 600+ people roaming the streets under the hot sun for your event, don't you think you should prepare for the worst?

And the whole filling in the time in between lucky draws, auctions and prize giving was pretty lame. They filled in the time with, a, I don't know what to call it, a recital? a sketch? about their cause. Number one, sound system was bad, could hardly understand what they were talking about. Number two, another event was going on at the same time at the other concourse area which has a better sound system, like what the heck? Number three, trying to preach gender equality to 600 odd people who has been under the sun half the day does not work. No one was even listening to what they were saying. Even if they did, just bits and pieces here and there.

Hunt For Equal Footing, was it achieved at the end of the day? BIG FAT NO. But they did get the money they wanted.

Oh, and my team didn't win. We didn't even finish it, ran out of time. Explains the ramblings huh?

Monday.

I'm seriously running out of ideas for the titles of my post. Creative juices are running dry (not to say that my titles were very creative before).

Anywayssss, bought this shirt last week(or was it last last week?), while waiting for bf to come to JJ Bkt Tinggi. He had free tix to watch Indi Jones.

I really gotta stop buying statement tees. I have too many already. When I look back at this tee, I feel like I kinda regret buying it, because after thinking further about the statement, it means I allow people to bother me and drive me crazy, when I actually couldn't care less. sheesh. Stupid rite. So, anyone wanna buy it off me?

Coz I don't need medication, I just get rid of people who annoy me. ahaks. ok, harsh. what the hell.

Let's move on to food! This is what I had for lunch. Angel Hair spaghetti with beef meatloaf,broccoli and cauliflower with mushroom and herbs sauce. Sheesh, I'm making me sound like I'm such a good cook. NOT!! Just trial and error. (and the sauce came from a jar) Can't really see the sauce in the picture.

Not to say I hate the normal spaghetti, but, kinda tired of it, so my mom suggested buying the fine one. Ok lah, thinner, not so mouthful. The whole thing tasted...well...actuallyyyy macam takde rase lar pulak, but ade rase sikit. Dunnolar, maybe that's how the sauce is supposed to taste? I dunno. I'm not so particular about taste, as long as it doesn't taste dayum bad.

Moving on to dinner. I call it Nasi Goreng Black Pepper. Tasted like it had too much black pepper. I used d instant mix for black pepper beef. Won't be cooking this again anytime soon.

Does anybody know where I can get miso soup PASTE? I can only find miso soup POWDER. I don't fancy the powder type, they only come in packets of 10, and costs RM10+. With the paste type I can use as much or as little as I want.

Let's talk about petrol. My dad has this idea where you keep your tank full, so that you only pump a little each time, which won't cost you as much as a full tank. So I tried that today. He pumped it full back in klang. So the needle was past the full mark. I drove from klang to pj to nilai to seremban and on the way back to nilai I pumped it to full. Before I pumped I checked how much I've used up, it was only a little below the full line, almost halfway down approaching the lower line. It costs RM26 to pump it back to full!!!! GILER LAH!!!!

Sod it, I'm not gonna follow my dad's theory.

Let's change to NGV.

A Post of Tats.

That's pretty much what I've been doing for the past few days. Eager to finish my big project. A lil spare time, I'll continue my tatting. Here's a picture of my current project.

Here's a close up of it. Sorry lar the picture is a bit blur, zoomed in too much. I don't remember where the pattern is from. I think it's from a tutorial teacher Faizon gave me. It's originally a pattern for a bookmark. But am making it longer, and putting together many pieces of it to make a table cloth.

Some people must be thinking, WTH? I thought she was an engineering trainee??? Hell yeah, we gurls can be tough and girlie at the same time okayyyyyyy.

Here's another piece I've just tatted. A handphone ornament requested by a colleague. Was quite shocked when HE asked if I could make one for him. And he actually searched the internet for a pattern o_O well, he sent me the picture. The website just showed the picture, no pattern was given, so I actually had to do a lil trial and error before getting the shape. I don't think I made it to the exact stitch count but looks the same lar. original design is by someone named Irina Astratenko, found on www.beadsky.com or you can click here.

Met up with my mom, sis, and her bf (sis's bf, not mom's >_<). Had dim sum for lunch near yati's office. Got these tatting books from mom (well the title does say a post of tats, so bear with me aight)
Oh dear, just realized there are a few more things that I wanted to take a picture off, but my camera's battery is low, and my laptop is connected to the plug point, which I was too lazy to connect the extension, and my laptop's battery is not inserted. (o_O panjang nyer penjelasan) So I can't unplug my laptop now. Will do it later. Probably will upload it tomorrow.

Going to the dentist tomorrow. Was wondering why my orthodontist didn't put the colored rubberbands on my braces like everyone else's. Shall ask him tomorrow.

Have to buy some stuff tomorrow. Will either go to JJ seremban or giant. See lar how rajin I'm feeling tomorrow.

Oh, I was in Klang for the weekend. Yes, you read that right, I was in Klang. (stop laughing okaayyyyyyy) I had to go back and show face larrrrrrrrrr. And get my well deserved allowance (ye ke well deserved? ahaks) Anyways, had to get the engine oil changed. My dad changed it, then looked at the tires, said they were teruk, so he took the car to change all four tires AND rims. ;p trade in lar, and he bought back traded stuff, so, not so exppiiiaannnsive lar. But I bet the Hantu was fuming lar, everytime I comeback, sure spend money on the car. Sorrrryyy, naik lorrrryyyy. kekekekekekekekekeke

Don't care.

Funny thing, I am confident if someone asks me to topup the aircraft's engine oil,replenish idg, or change the idg filter, but when it comes to cars, sorrryyy. I've already changed the aircraft's wheels, but I have yet to change a car tire. ahaks.

The only thing I know about cars is, start engine, on aircon, on radio, lights, pump petrol, topup radiator water, topup wiper water. lebih kurang itu je lar. Useless kan? name jer nak jadik engineer. ahaks.

Dayum, rambling tak tentu arah already.

Back to tatting....taaa
