...About Oh My Digression

Everyday when I go to work, I have to cross the path of some...hmm, should I say irritating? not exactly, annoying? I can't seem to find a suitable word. Let's just say that, all I want to do is roll my eyes at them right after I give them my "WTF-WHAT'S-YOUR-FREAKING-PROBLEM-GET-OUTTA-MY-FACE-BIATCH" look.

There's two groups of them. I'm sorry, I'm not being sexist, but they all just happen to be men.

Group 1, going into work:

I have to pass through a security checkpoint. There I get my bag scanned, my id checked and a brief molestation body check. The molestation body check is done by a female officer of course.

Now here's what happens, before she pats me down, she'll look at my id,then proceed with the body check. EVERY-SINGLE-FREAKING-TIME this process takes place, there will be at least 1 (max 3) male officer/s standing at the side, watching, with a smirk on their face.

First when the female officer checks my id, the male ones look over her shoulder to look at my tag and check my name. Then they say my name, softly, just enough for me hear that they caught my name (T_T). Then they take one step back and enjoy the 3 seconds free show of some girl on girl action while the female officer pats me down. !@#$%^&*(()@$#$%^*&()#%$^&*()#@%^&*&$##!^*%@#%^&*$$#&&*&%!@$#^
PERVERTIC IDIOTS, GO WATCH PORN OR SOMETHING!

Then as I grab my bag to quickly get away, 3 out of 5 times they'll say something to me like:
1. Ni How Ma?
2. Melayu ke cina?
3. Bye Diyana!
4. Asal mana?

What I would really like to answer to those questions:
1. Wo how bu how kuan ni se mo sze leh?
2. Melana or Cinlayu
3. Take my safety shoe off and hit them on the head.
4. Asal boleh jer.

*EXHALE*

Group 2, leaving the work place:

There's always a road block. Only God knows what in the world they are checking for. Sometimes they'll stop me, usually they don't. Just the other day they stopped me. Officer B was at the left hand side of my car, he told me to wind down my window. I told officer C who was at my right side that my left window is spoiled....

Me : Tingkap belah sana dah rosak.
Officer C : Lesen ade?
Me : Ade.
He gestures for me to pull over to the side.
I pulled over, showed him my license.
Officer C: Duit banyak-banyak buat ape?
Me : (forehead wrinkled, blank look on my face.) Huh?
Officer C: Duit banyak-banyak buat ape?
Me : Duit ape?
Officer C: Engineer kan? (gesturing towards the single white line on my shoulder)
Me : Tak lah, trainee jer.
Officer C : Oh, sebelum ni belajar kat mane?
Me : Uni.....
He read my name from my license out loud, smirks, hands it back to me and said
Officer C : Belum kahwin kan?
Me : (irritated look, shakes my head)
Officer C :(smirks some more, clicks his tongue)

Then I quickly drove off.

I felt like turning the car around and running him over.

And we still don't know what the hell the roadblock is for.

I think they should just do their job and mind their own business.

And shove a cactus up their arses.

...About Adding Friends on Social Networking Sites

How many people on your friends list in a social networking site are actually your friends? 90%? 70%? 50%?

People seem to be adding friends like it's a race to win something. Well I think it's stupid. Here's a simple guide to adding friends on social networking site that I live by. (read: if you're thinking of adding me, read the rules)

Do not add if:
1. Just because we're in the same group.
2. Just because we're in the same company.
3. Just because you've seen me before.
4. Just because you know someone I know (mutual friends WTH, that does not make the feelings mutual ok)

Only add if:
1. We're friends.

2. or we've actually had a real conversation.

And for the love of God, please write a message if:
You're adding me but:
1. Profile picture is not off you.
2. Profile name is not the name I know you by.

Last but not least, don't be offended if I don't approve you. I like to keep my private life private.

Do you think it's appropriate to mix your working life with you personal life?

I for one do not feel comfortable if I know my superior or anyone from work (who I'm not really buddy-buddy with) are viewing my personal pictures. So I don't add them. Period.

The phase of adding people just because, has long passed, I finished high school a long time ago.

So think before you add.

...About Using The Oven For The First Time

We've finally used up the tong of cooking gas and bought a newly filled one. Proceeded to use the oven for the first time (without having to fear if we'll run out of gas half way through)

Nope, no cupcakes or cakes yet, we made roast chicken and potatoes for dinner.

Had them with some blanched veggies with butter.

The chicken was tasty, Aunt Karen marinated them in Lea & Perrins sauce (important ingredient in western food cooking) salt and pepper and honey.

The potatoes, poked some holes in them using a fork and oiled them.

Baked them for about 45 minutes at about 200 degrees Celsius. Put some slivers of butter on the chicken before baking, put however much you like lar.

For the gravy, very simple, we used bottled black pepper sauce available at any supermarkets. First, fry sliced onions until wilted, then pour in two tablespoons of the black pepper sauce mixed with water, once it starts to boil, switch off the fire and set aside. Once the chicken is done roasting, transfer chicken to plate, pour all the juices from the chicken into the black pepper sauce. Put it back on the fire, heat it up and stir, mix about 3/4 teaspoon of cornflour mixed with water and stir into sauce to thicken it. Pour onto the chicken and serve.

Easy peasy. Yum yum.

...About No Bake Mango Cheesecake

Grand Aunt Karen and I made this cake, as we have no idea how much cooking gas we have left (gas oven) we dare not bake anything yet until the current tong has run out and a new one bought.

Very easy cake to make. Just make sure you have enough space in your fridge to chill it!

Recipe taken from 'Favourite Cupcakes and Cheesecakes' by Page One Publishing.

Ingredients:

Base:
90g butter
250g Digestives biscuits, finely crushed

Filling:
200g cream cheese
50g Sugar
2 mangoes (book did not specify the weight, we use average sized ones)
1 and 1/2 tablespoons gelatine2/3 cup thickened cream, whipped

Method:

Base:
1. Melt the butter and stir in the biscuit crumbs. Press into the base of a lined 20cm springform tin. Chill until firm.

Filling:
2. Place the cream cheese and the sugar in a bowl and beat together.
3. Peel, stone and puree 1 mango, add to the cheese and sugar, mix well.
4. Dissolve the gelatine in 1/4 cup warm water, add to the mango mixture, then add the cream.
5. Mix well, spoon into the cake tin and smooth the surface. Place in refrigerator until set.
6. Chop the remaining mango to decorate the cheesecake and serve with extra whipped cream.

Easy peasy lemon squeezy.
