...About Using The Oven For The First Time

We've finally used up the tong of cooking gas and bought a newly filled one. Proceeded to use the oven for the first time (without having to fear if we'll run out of gas half way through)

Nope, no cupcakes or cakes yet, we made roast chicken and potatoes for dinner.

Had them with some blanched veggies with butter.

The chicken was tasty, Aunt Karen marinated them in Lea & Perrins sauce (important ingredient in western food cooking) salt and pepper and honey.

The potatoes, poked some holes in them using a fork and oiled them.

Baked them for about 45 minutes at about 200 degrees Celsius. Put some slivers of butter on the chicken before baking, put however much you like lar.

For the gravy, very simple, we used bottled black pepper sauce available at any supermarkets. First, fry sliced onions until wilted, then pour in two tablespoons of the black pepper sauce mixed with water, once it starts to boil, switch off the fire and set aside. Once the chicken is done roasting, transfer chicken to plate, pour all the juices from the chicken into the black pepper sauce. Put it back on the fire, heat it up and stir, mix about 3/4 teaspoon of cornflour mixed with water and stir into sauce to thicken it. Pour onto the chicken and serve.

Easy peasy. Yum yum.
