...About Finding Out Your Worst Suspicions Are True

Now I know why I have been a mad and angry person for the past few years.
I keep flipping out over the smallest things.
My old friends would know that I don't normally get angry easily.
Nowadays I get angry at the snap of a finger.

Today it has presented itself to me.
What made me the angry bitch that I am today.

I'm at a place where I don't really want to be in the first place.
I'm here because I can.
I'm here because I thought it's not a bad place to be anyways.
But the future is so vague now.

So so vague.
I'm so disappointed.

You put you future in other people's hands.
People who were so sure about what they were doing, they thought they were the best.
But along the way, the plans keep changing.
You realize they didn't really plan anything yet.
There's nothing concrete to look at.

Then you think, is this really happening?
Can this actually happen?

Then you find out, it's not happening.
At this point of time, they are not sure when it can happen.
They are running out of ideas on how to make it happen.

It's like, there's no light at the end of the tunnel.

But in my case, they haven't even built the tunnel yet.

But at least now, today, after all the questions, I can exhale.

I know where we stand.

Nowhere.

I'm going to live like I'm dying.

I was angry because I could easily be someplace else doing things I'm actually passionate about instead of forcing myself to built this tunnel that keeps collapsing. And that people who actually want to be there aren't even bothered to try and built the tunnel.

So That's What I Think.

...About Being The Best (in things that matter)

No, you don't have to be the best in everything you do.
As long as you do what you are supposed to do.
As long as you get things done.
As long as you actually do it.

No, no one is going to give you an appreciation certificate if you did your best and came out on top.
No one is going to give you a pat on the back and say "Good Job Mate!"
No one might even notice you did your very best.

Someone might notice and hate you for it.
Someone might hold a grudge on you for putting the bar that much higher.
Someone might snide you for being such a competition.
Someone might bitch about you for being a perfectionist.

But,
You do it anyway.
You strive to do the very best that you can.
You go the extra mile just to make it that much extraordinary.
You do it the long way just to get it right.

Why?

Because no one is stopping you.
Because no one tells anyone to not be the best that they can be.
Because it makes you happy.
Because you know you won't be satisfied if you didn't try your best.
Because it matters to you and the people dear to you.

And just simply because you can.
You can be the best that you want to be.
Just be.

So That's What I Think.

This time, the fried rice is by yours truly! >_< In the silicon cup is beef stroganoff we experimented for dinner from a recipe book. I have no idea how it's SUPPOSED to taste like, and we were missing some ingredients. All in all, edible.

...About Bento #16

This is like by far the ugliest bento ever. And all my other bentoes are not that pretty in the first place >_<

On the left, 3/4 of an orange. It was super masam! Could not finish it. But it sure woke me up frommy sleep inertia! On the right, assortment of mini sandwiches, jam and honey, and a mini yam filled pau.

This time I tried a new bag...

Pretty cute, looks like the small cloth bag the japanese robbers in cartoons carry at the end of a stick ahaha.

Til the next bento!

...About Starbuck's Mooncake :Berries & Cheese

Yup, thaaaaat's the flavour. Doesn't it sound so weird? I mean berries? and cheese? Seriously? Come on! Berries and Cheese in a mooncake? Get out of here!

Seriously, the flavours they come up with these days, most of the time it makes me cringe just hear their names.

I received this mooncake from a close friend of mine. I thought Starbucks would come up with a "Mocha Cream Mooncake with Espresso Shot" or something like that. But this?!

I was very-very skeptical about how it's gonna taste. I wasn't gonna try it alone and have to finish the whole thing by myself. So I shared it with the gang whom I knew will at least try it once, just to know what it tastes like.

So we cut it up, and braced ourselves.....

Here's what I was expecting, a gag-gingly super sweet burst of flavor in my mouth with a weird mixture of strong cheese.

Turns out, it wasn't as bad as I expected it to be! No, it is NOT the best tasting mooncake, but it was surprisingly ok. It was not super sweet at all, and somehow, the taste of the cheese actually blended in nicely with the berries.

However, I wouldn't buy it though. Just to give it a try, ok lar, but to actually buy on every mooncake festival? Nah! I'll stick to my classic single yolk lotus paste thank you very much!

So That's What I Think.

p.s: sorry about the colors of the pics.

Bento #13 on Tuesday the 13th T_T

Alamak....luckily no mishaps happened.

Here's my bento for today.

On the left, is tuna sandwich (again) using up the leftover tuna from the other day. On the right from top to bottom, sliced beef frankfurter, potato salad and 3 pieces of prunes. Managed to put more variety into 1 container this time.

I realised that I haven't been signature-ing my pictures for the past few posts, forgot. But then my bento pics are nothing, nobody gonna take anyways.

...About Bento #11

This is my first time using this sandwich box (plenty of other bento boxes I have yet to 'rasmikan') First of all, sorry if I offend anyone (read mom) by using the cling wrap to wrap the sandwiches, as I have nothing else to wrap it with and I do not like the idea of the bread being expose to the atmosphere.

Anyways, top tier, tuna mayonnaise sandwich. Bottom tier is potato and egg salad. Looks a lil empty at the bottom, should have squeezed in a silicon cup of prunes right? Haih, was rushing.

I couldn't find a strap big enough for this box, but I found an elastic string in the box, so I guess it goes together?

Wrapped the box with the same cloth as in #10. Did not put it in a paper bag this time, proudly carried it as it is :)

No bento tomorrow, rest from early morning kelam-kabutness. Will be back on monday y'all!!

...About Bento #10

I haven't pack a bento in ssoooo long that I had to check my older posts before numbering this one.

Ladies and gentlemen, hereeeeeee's #10!

Sorry about the color, used my phone to capture this, setting was a bit off. On the top, is spaghetti aglio olio my version with the garlic still there, slices of beef frankfurter and mixed herb. Bottom is a wedge of pomelo and in the silicon cup are some Sunsweet prunes.

On the left hand side is a Starbucks mooncake given to me by a friend, will review it next post. Brought it along to share with my gang.

Wrapped it up like this..

My friend peeked into the paper bag that I brought this in and went "What's this??!!"
I was like "That's my lunch."
Then he said "Open it! I want to see how you open it! So cute!"

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

Here's to more bentos!

...About Papa John's Pizza

Here's the thing. Whenever something new comes to our shores, to me, I think, it is always better than the previous one that we already have here.

Pizza Hut (PH), many many years ago, that was the only pizza we know of. Then came Domino's. Which is better than  PH in terms of value and taste (again, according to me). Now, there's another one, Papa John's. Seriously, I think it tastes a lot better than the former two.

First time there, ordered a set for 4. The first thing that came after we ordered was this...

I was like, okayyyyysssss.... I went back to the menu. The yellow one is Garlic Sauce.WARNING: Garlic sauce packs a punch of garlic on your tongue, do not have it on it's own, must dip. Pizza the Papa John way is, "you haven't had Pizza til you had your pizza doctored the Papa John way". You can either splash some of this sauce onto your pizza, or dip the crust in. I'll get to the crust later.

The red sauce, is tomato sauce I think. The green things are Peppercini (if I'm not mistaken) It's not hot at all, but very salty. I suggest you smother it with the tomato sauce.

The first pizza is some raya special one, can't remember the name, It had sambal in it, But did not taste bad, unlike some other places when they decide to put local flavor in their pizza, it comes out tasting funky, in a bad way. This one was ok. The second one is Chicken Super Papa. Both were ok lar. Not exactly lip smacking delicious.

Now, one thing about the pizza. The cheese on it. It has a lot of cheese. You know when you watch PH advertisement on the tv, when they pick up a slice of pizza off the pan, strands of cheese are pulled from between the slice and the rest of the pizza on the pan? But in reality, it doesn't happen? The cheese are clean cut when the staff slices it, no streaks of cheese to tantalise you when someone else is taking a slice (if got also, 1 or 2 strands only kan?) . At Papa John's, it's freaking real okays!!!!! Seriously! Joy! wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!

Ok, ok.

I wanna talk about the crust. Now, I am not a fan of normal crust pizza (read:prefers thin crust) because they are thick and tasteless. But this one, their crusts are thinner, about 3/4 the crust of other places. And, get this, the crust tastes good. Seriously, there's some seasoning or whatever in the dough. Either that or I'm imagining things. Whatever you do, dip the crust in the Garlic Sauce, please and thank you. Seriously. Regret it you will not.

Moving on.

Marco Polo spaghetti. The spaghetti was overcooked, as I expected, same as everywhere else. No praises here. No surprise either.

The set came with Papa's Platter.  Consisting of, 2 chicken wings, some potato wedges, and onion rings. Okaylar.....not bad.

Overall, the pizza size is slightly smaller than other places. The crust taste good. Price wise, I'd say, more or less the same. They have delivery service too, but limited to certain areas only, as they only have 3 branches in the country.

To all the buffet monsters out there.....

Haha, what's the point you open a branch in Malaysia without having an All-you-can-eat promo right? Exactly...

This is a so and so review lah. Go to their website to find out more aight?

So That's What I Think.
