One year ago today, I thought I would have established as a Licensed Aircraft Engineer by now. Alas. Things did not transpire according to the timeline I had in mind.
Obstacles after obstacles. Delay after delay. New requirement upon new requirement.
It's as if after every two steps forward that I take, I have to take one step back.
Persevere I must. For only I can let myself down. Only I can disappoint myself.
They impose new requirement? Fulfill it.
Give them what they want.
Because in the end, you will get what you deserve.
Here's to all the Trainee Aircraft Maintenance Engineers all over the world.
(and people say becoming a pilot is hard. pfft)

...About Slowly but Surely
Slowly but surely, one by one I'm watching my seniors being established as full fledged Licensed Aircraft Engineers.
Slowly but surely my time is coming. Training time is up. Shape up or ship out. Time to wake up and smell the coffee.
No more playing around. No more dilly dallying.
It's so near, yet so far.
There's still so much to learn, experience to gain, so much I don't know.
Going along with my newly established senior to attend defects, I realise I am not alone in feeling unsure and a bit shaky in putting my name down to declare an aircraft fit to fly. Everyone goes through that.
How far and how fast you go is all up to you. You can either work hard to gain experience and knowledge to make you a more competent engineer or you can just sit around and wait for knowledge to be handed to you.
Insyaallah by this time next year, I have already been signing off aircrafts for a few months.
Gambateh!

...About Sight Seeing In Bali
Although I don't get to travel or go for getaways as often as some of my colleagues do, I am fortunate enough to be able to go on annual trips. This year, I made it to Bali. Was a last minute trip. A girl friend who resides in Australia was going there for a week and suggested that it'll be cool to meet there. After some scrambling, loads of sms-es and online messaging, the trip came to fruit.
It was a fun trip with good company. Although I spent more than I would have liked, I still enjoyed the trip. The only hassle was to get halal food. Oh well, all that aside, let us let the pictures do the talking.
Oh and by the way, this was way back in Apri (>_<)

..About Gratitude List
Weeks ago, while I was channel surfing, I happened to watch an old episode of The Oprah Winfrey Show. She was talking about her Gratitude List. That got me to thinking about making up my own list. Mind you, that was weeks ago, finally got around to it.
We all have gripes about anything and everything in our lives. If you don't then you're lying to yourself honey. But sometimes when you stop and think about it, life ain't that bad after all. I mean, you're alive and here right?
I know people today who would not believe it if I said that back then people know me as "the girl who's always smiling". Most people I know today know me as "mak cik kecik garang". Life's change, people change, situation change. Okay maybe people don't really change, deep down their the same, but I have to say that we adapt. Adapt to situation and environment.
When you're a petite girl working in a male dominated environment, it's hard to make them take you seriously when you're bubbly all the time. But nevertheless, I am grateful of what I have, am, and going to be.
I may not be rich.
But I am grateful that I have enough to live comfortably.
I may not have a perfect body.
But I am grateful God let me have enough limbs, digits and senses.
I may not be a genius.
But I'm grateful that I'm smart enough to get by.
I may not be strong enough to do what I would like to be able to do.
But I am grateful that I have the strength to get up and live life everyday.
I may not have the best job in the world.
But I am grateful that I have a job to go to.
So yeah, be happy with what you have. There are people who have it way worst.
What won't kill you only makes you stronger.

...About Oh Whatever
Yes, I have not updated anything at all for the past month. I just couldn't find the time to really sit down and type something. Was busy doing.....nothing much. Ahaks!
Catching up on years' worth of tv watching I can say.
I do come online, but just for an hour or slightly more. Jumping from site to site, checking e-mails. Reading other people's blog and commenting. Must be pretty weird when the owner of the blog clicks on my link and see that I've not blogged for over a month but yet I'm dropping comments on other people's blog. Sounds stalker-ish o_0

...About Backlog of Posts In My Head
I have so many blog posts composing itself in my head. Mostly reviews on books I've read recently. And I've read quite a number of books lately. Just haven't found the time to do it yet.
I want to write a proper review with a piture of the book (well it's MY proper way of doing it) but I'm not with my pc for these few weeks, so all the words are just floating around in my head.
So here I Am writing about writing. How silly does that sound? OK, get on with your lives people! Go ahead and click on the X on the top right hand corner of your screen.
Ok byez

...About Guilty Pleasure
How is it that I have to think 10 times before I buy clothes or other apparels (most of the time ending up not buying anything) but I only have to think twice before parting with my money for books? Bookworm much?
Damage from the recent Popular Book Fest at KLCC.
This is from my Mom, She bought it online ages ago.
Lotsa books to dive into. Woo-hoo!
Have books, will travel.

...About Books I'd Like To Delve Into Soon
I haven't read a book in a long time. The last book I've read was at least one and a half months ago. Which by the way, I forgot to write about. It was quite a good book. Will put up a post on that soon (no promises though)
On the few occasions that I find myself out and about and in a bookshop, I always come across books that I want to read, but by the time I reach home, I'll forget what the books were. So, a google-ing we will go.
First up, number 1 on my fave author list, John Grisham.
So here's to hoping these books will turn up at my book hunting grounds soon! I haven't paid RRP for a book in years!
Have you read a book this month?

...About The Whole Bahasa Melayu Bible Hoo Haa
First, our nation made a big hoo haa when the misnistry decided to teach maths and science in English. They said that we are turning our backs on our Bahasa Kebangsaan. Then the ministry changed it back to teaching it in Bahasa, ensuring that our nation's level of English literacy stays stagnant.
Now the 'pious' muslims are making a big ruckus over Bibles printed in Bahasa Melayu. Like hello? The Holy Quran itself has translations in many different language, no one made a hoo haa about that. So what? We can have our Holy Quran in other languages but the Christians can't have their Bibles in Bahasa? That does not sound fair.
I don't know what the mindsets of muslims in other countries are like, but it seems that here it sounds a lil something like this. "We are peaceful people. You should respect our culture and customs, tolerate us, but we don't have to treat you the same"
The non-muslims have been very tolerant with us muslims, why can't we do the same? It won't shake our belief and faith. If we have that strong a faith in the first place. The people that usually start a ruckus are usually people who don't practice in the first place, they just want to point out other people's mistakes.
Typical.
The Christians got angry when the ministry stamped their Bibles.
Wouldn't we be mad too if the Holy Quran got stamped?
Yeah, 1Malaysia yawww

...About Online Banking Fraud
Every time I read the warning of "Never log into your account via email links" I'm like, yeah yeah yeah yeah, whatever, I know I know.
But today, I received this email.
Click on image for larger view.
It looks fishy, but when I looked at the 'from' address, it looks convincing. So I clicked on the link. It lead me to the log in page. But dig this, the log in page's url was this "http://www.beautysenses.com.my/mbb/Security/" aha! I knew it!
It even has all the fraud warning and maybank2u contact number on it. Looks real, until you check the url.
I called the hotline, read out the email to the operator, I think she freaked out more than me. She immediately say "It's a fraud! Did you click on it?" Well, yeah, I clicked, but I didn't type in any info, so I'm safe.
Then just for the heck of it, I typed in some random username and password, and it logged me in (of course it would right?). Ahaks.
Have fun hacking my 'account' suckers! boo yah!

...About The last 4 Months
4 months doesn't seem so long once it has actually passed.
After all the hard work and years of training, we've reached the halfway point. And it's all up to us how long it's gonna take to go through the other half.
This is it.
It's not that far away.
It's not that hard, many others have done it before you.
Have faith in yourself.
Gambate!

...About The Annual Ritual Of....
...eating mandarin oranges til my throat is sore. It ain't time for Chinese New Year if it ain't sore. ahaks.
Here I was thinking my friends in other parts of the world won't have mandarin oranges, but...
The one in Chennai gets the tiny mandarins.
The one in Australia has a tree of it in her backyard.
The one in Karachi gets huge ass mandarin oranges over there.
Sheesh. So much for feeling special.
