...About The Associate by John Grisham

I have to say, for the first time ever, John Grisham has failed me. This book was - for the lack of a better word- boring.

The build up of the story didn't go as high as his other stories did. And that made the ride down oh-so-not-thrilling. But I do think it will make a good movie. The build up will look better on screen rather than written in a book.

Ok so, the story is about a law student who's been blackmailed to work in a mega law firm to steal information. At the end of the day, he tries to find a way out. How? Well, you gotta read the book to find out.

I think I'm so bad at reviewing. I never really write what the books/movies are about, but mainly just what I think of it.

Well, this blog IS called This Is What I Think.

Damage done by me and my mom after only hitting one shop. >_<

At the end of the day (it was sunday by the way), I ended up with this loot

With less than Rm100 spent. :) not bad eh?

...About: Zee Avi, KL Live@Life Centre, 20 March 2010

I haven't been to a performance in a long time. I wouldn't really call this a concert, the set was quite simple and personal. Makes the fans feel closer. It was just her, her instruments, a cello-ist, and a drummer. It was definitely 100% live and acoustic.

I didn't get to watch the whole thing, I missed a few songs. But I do know the first song she sang was 'Poppy' I really like the verse of the song, chorus not so. She performed most of the song from her album. Including some from her Kokokaina days and some new materials (read: I couldn't sing-a-long to).

It was quite a short set. About 50 minutes or so. But she did come back out for an encore and sang 'Monte'. Eventhough she was already half way through the press conference.Sorry all my pics are from weird views, I was moving around a lot.

She likes to make jokes in between her song, while she's introducing the next song and what not.

I dare say not many people has a shot of her from this view.

sound check yo

All in all...let's do it Citibank style..

Full tank of petrol : RM50
Parking : RM4
Meeting Zee Avi, getting her autograph and snap a picture with her : Priceless.

...About Aviation

Okay lah, airlines lar. Not everyone is familiar with the word aviation.

When you think of airlines, what's the first thing that comes to mind?

I bet it's Pilot. Right? Right. The bonafide people who sits in the cramped quarters right behind the forward pressure bulkhead, the cockpit. You see them pulling their trolley bag, wearing their crisp white shirt, pressed black pants, the hat, necktie, the oh so magnificent gold bars (they're called epaulets) on their shoulder. And sometimes with their Oakleys on. Wah, respect respect.

What's the second thing that comes to mind? The Stewardess, or the Stewards. The people with high flying careers. They spend hours getting ready for work, always looking good. They HAVE to always looks good. You have no idea how many times they HAVE to touch up their make-up in a day. The people with fabulous jet setting lives. Always in a different country every other day.

After these 2 categories you'll probably think of the people at the check in counter. The ones who gets scolded because you can no longer check in because you were late.

Then the guys who load your luggage onto the aircrafts. The very same guys who have to look for the luggage of that one passenger who checked in their luggage but for some reason did not make it to the departure gate and onto the aircraft, so they can off-load the bag.

But I bet, this other group of people never crossed your mind. People almost never think of them when they think about airlines and aircraft.

Think about it. And give them credit.

...About 2 posts in One Day

How is that possible? Was I that bored?

Actually, it was not unproductive.

Late lunch with mom and mom's mom.
Ahaks, just to confuse you.

Then I got bored after they left.
Then I found out a certain somebody was free, so out I went!!

Randomly, without planning to, well I did plan to, but wasn't planning to actually do it today, changed my steering wheel.

The old one is disintegrating, like, literally, black powdery stuff is coming out from it, the fake leather cracked everywhere. So I got a new one.

Black, is beyootiful.

Then went about and found new pants for work. It's darn bloody hard to find a decent pair of normal black straight cut long khakis for girls. So when I came across it today, I thought I better get it now rather than having to look for it again later. Oh, that I didn't take a picture off.

So I practically did everything else but touch this....

I better start flipping pages.....

...About Slacking

The problem with constantly revising and studying in order to try and achieve the best result is that, after a while, you get tired of it.

But if you slack from the beginning, not trying hard, you will never get tired of it. Because it's not tiring to begin with.

Right now, I'm slacking.

I would like to blame it on my not feeling well early this week. I was just a bunch of black and white mess permanently stuck to the wall spitting out answers when there's a demand for it.

Oh help me.

Pick up speed.

You're learning about gas turbine engine for God's sake.

oh yes, this picture is to impress you people

...About The Book of Eli

This story is set in the time where all of mankind wears Rayban.

No kidding, serious! Everyone has one!

They'll be killing each other for water, food and other basic necessities in life, but each person has a Rayban sunnies!

Hahahahaha, okay, jokes aside.

This movie is set in a time after a huge war. A war so huge that when it happened, the sky blew up, or something like that. I can't really say because they never really made it clear what happened. Here's my guess, a huge war happened where they used a super bomb. When the super bomb detonated, it messed up the ozone layer so bad. Not only things blew up, disintegrating half of earth's population, harmful sun rays came in after that, rendering some people blind, while the rest can't go outdoors without donning a pair of sunnies.

Okays, about the book. Let's cut to the chase, the book is a Bible. No less no more. After the war, all other copies were burnt, some believed it caused the war in the first place. This last copy, called out to Eli under a mountain of rubble.

Eli is now on a mission to bring the Bible to the west (journey to the west ya digg?) He doesn't know what's in the west, he just knows that a voice is telling him to bring it to the west.

Along the way, lots of killing and fighting involved. A bad guy is after the Bible, he believes that he can rule the world with the soothing words of the Bible because everyone has lost hope, so he can give them hope.

After much shooting, bombing and killing, the bad guy gets the Bible, and shoots Eli.

But get this, Eli stays alive! To make it all the way to the west, where there is a facility where many people survived and are trying to start over.

The bad guy opens the Bible only to find that it's a Braille version!

Eli, having memorized the Bible then recites it to be written down and published.

And....Eli was blind the whole time......I don't know if he is supposed to be blind in the movie, but there's a scene in the end where if you don't think to much, is suggesting to you that Eli is blind.

The closing scene is of the Bible being placed on a rack, right next to the Holy Quran and other holy books of other religion.

Now there's a message for ya.

...About Puchi Puchi

What is Puchi Puchi? It's fun, all cramped into a 4 X 4.5 cm rectangle. Mine's purple in color. Under a different light, it looks pink, but who cares if  it looks pink?

When I first heard of it, I thought "What the hell for?" But then, I went on youtube and searched for it. It looked like so much fun. So I went looking for it.

FOUND!

Yes I bought 2, No, they're not both for me, I'm not THAT crazy.
Look at the packaging man.....

It's so much fun it'll make you cry! hahahahah.

And here's the back label. It's all in japanese. I don't even know why I had to take a picture of it and post it up. It's what all bloggers do I think, take a picture of something from every angle and post it up. T_T
So what exactly does it do?

Well, do you like popping bubbles on the bubble wrap plastics? Well this toy gives you infinity bubbles to pop. Each time you press any button, it goes 'pop!' Okay, it doesn't sound exactly like the real pop, but get this, after every 100 pops, you get a random funny sound. I think there are like, 5 or 7 different sounds, and you'll never know which one will come out next.

There's even a fart sound >_<

It's therapeutic in a way, well for me at least.

And it can annoy the hell outta people. nyeheheheheheeheheh
